Electro-Harmonix 45000 Released

January was an exciting month for an industry that only see’s new product launches a few times a year, at best. Not only did TC Electronic announce a new type 1 looper device (Ditto), EHX has entered back into the looper space with the new Electro-Harmonix 45000.
The 45000 is a follow-on to the popular 2880, which had been discontinued. We would describe this as a type 2 looper (see definitions). A few interesting points about it is that it has four tracks per memory slot, can perform loop-to-loop queuing, and has a functioning MIDI interface.
We plan to follow up with a full product review soon, and have initiated price tracking. Although, the MSRP is $635, you can pick one up for $476 on amazon. This is comparable to the Boomerang III or Pigtronix Infinity pricing. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to buy a separate foot controller in order to have hands-free capabilities. We see these running for about $119.
